Williamsburg Review :: Williamsburg is Emo

A review of Williamsburg:
Getting off the Subway we came across two vegan restaurants right away. We started to think, hey we can live here. We found an outdoor cafe and ate lunch with our pup. We both remarked on how emo the neighborhood looks. I really haven’t seen so many tight, tapered jeans since the 80s. The neighborhood is really, very cool. Ed is practically in love. He could move in tomorrow.
The author gets a bit more critical later as she discusses the quality of our graffiti.

Enjoy seeing the Wburg through a stranger's eyes.

Wburg.TV @ Veoh

Wburg.TV Online Videos by Veoh.com

I really like the look and quality of Veoh's transcoded flash and player.

Moreover, Veoh will automatically cross-post to all the major social networking sites that support video. Nicer still, is that Veoh is 'fed' from our Blip.tv uploads, so once uploaded at Blip, the videos show up at Veoh, and on to YouTube and MySpace, and Google Video.

Per the NY Times :: Williamsburg is Ugly

They don't know why the hype about Wburg Brooklyn?

Tut-tut.

Then go away, yo.

clipped from www.nytimes.com

Ms. del Corte Hirschfeld and Mr. Leiner are artists in the broadest sense of the word, bringing creative energy, humor and intelligence to even the most mundane aspects of their lives. So you might think they would be delighted to live in ultra-hip Williamsburg, Brooklyn. But they are not.

“I think it’s really ugly,” Ms. del Corte Hirschfeld said, referring to the blocks surrounding the 1,200-square-foot Grand Street apartment, which they rent for $1,350 a month. “The plastic facades are superugly. The asphalt siding. You don’t know why there’s all this hype about the neighborhood.”

I totally get how folks are inspired to make love letters to Williamsburg, Brooklyn, County of Kings, USA, 11211.

Do it all the time, m'self.

I really like how this v-love letter is edited. Love its energy, and the music's perfect.

Meeting A Test of Will :: The Wburg.tv Reviews Begin

One of the things I love about vlogging and blogging is how it brings folks of like interest (if not like mind) more easily together.

Like how, having been away from Williamsburg for three years (priced out), I "meet" Will, a Wburg photographer who's photo-blogging Wburg's radically changing cityscape.

Including Wburg.tv.

Couldn't be happier that - while Will characterizes our wee screen as having "Times Squared" the corner - he's not used a heavier blunt descriptive instrument.

As folks get to know us - and the mini jumbotron plasma screen at the corner of Bedford Avenue and North 7th Street - I think they'll find us all pretty damned okay.

If it's NOT okay, get your own stuff or the stuff of somebody you admire up there on the screen. I'm an email, an AIM, a Skype, or a phone call away.
